Oakdale, NY- Jessie Stavola and
Emily Slack of the Dowling Softball team would be named to the ECAC All-Star team with Stavola earning Pitcher of the Year honors.
Slack would have another outstanding season as she finished with a .325 batting average in her sophomore season behind the plate for the Golden Lions. Her 17 doubles on the year would rank her first in the East Coast Conference while ranking second on the team with 33 RBI and third with 63 hits.
Slack would also earn spots on the Daktronics and NFCA East Region teams.
Adding another award to her long list of accomplishments this year was
Stavola, the East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year. Also earning spots on the Daktronics and NFCA East Region teams,
Stavola would be dominant on the mound for Dowling.
Stavola would lead in all major pitching categories for the ECC including ERA (1.18), Opposing Batting Avg. (.116), Strikeouts (269), Saves (3), Hits Allowed (56) and Earned Runs Allowed (24). Her 2.9 hits allowed and 12.3 strikeouts per 7 innings would lead all of Division II as well.
